The educational programme at HELLASchool is organised into the following levels:
A1 → A2 → B1 → B2 → C1 → C2
A brief online assessment is carried out prior to enrolment.
The student or parent does not need to know the level in advance

Our teaching team determines the appropriate level and recommends the corresponding e-class.

For learners who are just starting out or have a basic knowledge of Greek.
The aim is for the learner to begin to:
• understand simple everyday conversations,
• use everyday vocabulary,
• communicate with their family and friends,
• read and understand simple texts,
• write short sentences and texts,
• use basic grammatical and syntactic structures.
Particular emphasis is placed on spoken language

For children who already understand Greek but are reluctant to speak, our aim is to transform their passive knowledge of the language into genuine communication
.
For students who can already communicate in Greek and wish to develop greater fluency, accuracy and confidence.
We work systematically on:
• spoken language,
• vocabulary building,
• grammar and syntax,
• reading comprehension,
• writing,
• narration and description,
• expressing opinions,
• discussion and argumentation.
For students with a high level of proficiency in Greek who wish to use the language fluently, accurately and with expressive richness.
The programme includes:
• complex spoken discourse,
• advanced vocabulary,
• high-level grammar and syntax,
• comprehension of challenging texts,
• production of well-structured written discourse,
• argumentation,
• presentations,
• literary and journalistic texts,
• historical, social and cultural topics.

The HELLASchool curriculum is organised into the following levels:

and offers students who wish to do so the opportunity to prepare systematically for the official Greek Language Proficiency Certification examinations.

HELLASchool prepares
students for the Greek Language Proficiency Certificate. It is not the awarding body for the certificate.
Online Greek lessons at times suited to everyday
life in Europe Classes in Europe can be held every day of the week, subject to availability.

The running of each specific course depends on availability and the creation of a suitable e-class.
The programme for the USA and Canada takes place at weekends, so that it fits more easily into pupils’ school and family schedules.

Australia follows a different school calendar to Europe and North America.
For this reason, HELLASchool Australia has its own academic calendar
, whilst the core educational model remains the same.

Due to Australia’s different time zones and daylight saving time changes, the exact local time will be confirmed upon registration.
The educational model is the same for all pupils, but the academic calendar is adapted to the school systems of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

The academic programme for Europe and America is divided into two main terms throughout the year.
The First Academic Term begins on 15 September and ends on 15 December. This is followed by the Winter Break, from 16 December to 14 January.
The Second Academic Term begins on 15 January and runs until 15 May. Once it has ended, pupils have the opportunity to take part in the Summer Programme.
In Australia, the academic programme follows the structure of the local school calendar.
The Academic Cycle begins on 1 February, with the regular programme running until 15 December. During term breaks, students have the opportunity to take part in Holiday Greek Speaking Programmes, offering additional opportunities to practise and engage with the Greek language.
The long summer holiday takes place during December and January, whilst the new academic year begins again on 1 February.
The exact dates are adjusted, where necessary, to the relevant Australian school calendar.
Consistency in the programme helps the course to fit seamlessly into the daily lives of the student and their family.
For this reason, key elements of the educational process remain consistent throughout the term. The day and time of the lesson do not change, making it easier for families to plan and helping the lesson become a regular part of the week.
At the same time, the e-class and the teacher remain the same, ensuring cohesion amongst the pupils, continuity in teaching and better monitoring of their progress.
The level of study also remains consistent, ensuring a clear educational pathway until the next assessment.
